“This mantra was guarded like a secret gem. It is the key to the inner doors of naad – the realm of creative sound. If you listen to the sound of the mantra and then concentrate into its subtle sounds, you will become absorbed into the unlimited domain of your higher Self.”
“Laya” is a Sanskrit word meaning “dissolve.” Practicing this meditation enables you to consciously remember and experience the link between you and the Creator as One.
It is said that this mantra opens the secret book of Laya Yoga. For me, it feels like altering the conscious level of the mind to a higher state by making the mind listen to the inner sound. I can attest to the experience that this Kriya delivers that – and more.
It is one of the very first meditations I encountered as a new Kundalini Yoga practitioner, and today, I love sharing it with new students. It is so very gentle, so sweet, yet so powerful; and yes, it also makes me feel very connected to the Creator.
In all its subtle complexity, it is also rather easy and straightforward for a beginner to explore. The effects are simultaneously sweet and gentle, and undeniably very real and present. Repeatedly spiraling the energy flow from root to crown, I feel deeply grounded – without any accompanying heaviness. At the same time, I feel totally airy and ethereal – connected to the beyond. It is a very remarkable experience!
It is also said that this mantra takes you to the most subtle realm of creativity. It awakens the kundalini force that energizes the whole Creation. Yes, it does! And just reading that sentence means perhaps nothing to you, but the experience of the meditation will bring you understanding. So try it! And let me know what it does for you.
